October 2019 The Hubbard Public Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, books, and technologies that enrich, educate, and empow er the individuals of our diverse community. Visit our Website Adult Services Glow in the Dark Rock Painting Workshop – Wed. 10/30 @ 5 PM Show your creativity…and help decorate the library in the process! On Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 5 PM, the library will host a rock painting workshop in which participants will be able to paint patterns of their own choosing and/or stencil patterns on rocks to line the library’s exit and beautiful the library both day and night! Paint and household-based dotting tools will be provided, as will a limited number of rocks; participants are encouraged to bring their own rocks (easily portable) if they have them. This workshop is free , and registration can be completed by calling the library at 330-534-3512 ext. 2. Glitter Tumbler Workshop – Wed. 11/6 and 11/13 at 5 PM If you would like to be able to give a personalized gift or would like a unique tumbler for your own use, then grab a stainless steel tumbler from the nearest store and reserve a spot in the library’s THIRD glitter tumbler workshop ! Spots are limited, and participants must be able to attend both sessions. Additionally, there is a $5 non-refundable donation required. To reserve your spot, please call the library at 330-535-3512 ext. 2. World War II Akron – Saturday, November 16 at 2 PM Come hear how a fellow Ohio city navigated World War II! Akron native Tim Carroll, who holds a history degree from the University of Akron, will be joining us to share some interesting slides and discuss such fascinating topics as: America’s first peace time draft; the Boy Scout and Fathers Drafts; the Deadliest Year of the War; and the American Theatre. Reservations are required for this program and can be completed by calling the library at 330-534-3512 ext. 2. Eating with Diabetes
