Featured Database ASL (Through Mango Languages) Start the year by learning something new! The Hubbard Public Library online learning and databases include ASL (through Mango Languages). This resource has over 70 languages to explore, including the special resource for American Sign Language (ASL). Lessons involve a rich mix of listening and reading activities, so you can make sense of written and spoken contexts. Sign language is distinct from spoken languages with its own grammar, structure, and vocabulary. They also include intonation (i.e. facial expressions) and encompass every linguistic feature found in spoken languages. This Mango course is interactive where, by using the camera on your computer, you can mirror the instructor. It’s a fun and challenging way to boost your cultural IQ.
