MakerSpace 101 Programming


STEAM based programs bringing the MakerSpace to all levels of skill and experience. Each program will introduce a new skill or piece of equipment in a comfortable setting for all skill levels. ​

These programs will be varied in ages and types, please register accordingly. See our Calendar of events for program dates and times.

Program Descriptions:  

Girls Who Code:

This is a national non-profit working to close the gender gap in technology. Our Clubs are free programs for 3-5th and  6-12th grade girls to use computer science to impact their community and join our sisterhood of supportive peers and role models.  Sessions will be held weekly. Please choose what session (time/day of week) works best for your schedule and continued attendance.

Code Club:

A weekly code club for ages 8 to 12 years old to explore Scratch, HTML and a variety of coding experiences


MakerSpace Book Club:

The concept of becoming a maker is to have the  wherewithal to face challenges and use design processing to overcome them. Learn more about how challenges can be met through reading fiction and  processing  ideas to solve character problems. Ages 10-16, weekly.


Scratch 101:

This program will be held monthly but follow a guided learning experience so it is best to commit to all 4 programs to complete the workbook.

Ages 10 and up.


Lil Coders: Ages 3-6 will learn the concepts behind coding, such as movement and process. These sessions include very little computer use but will emphasize physical activity, limiting screen time, and computer safety.


Makey Makers:

This monthly program for ages 6-8 will introduce the Makey Makey, an invention kit for the 21st century. Turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the internet. It's a simple Invention Kit for Beginners and Experts doing art, engineering, and everything in between. We will focus on conductivity, challenges, and “board game” creation.
