Mahoning Valley Coal War

The Mahoning Valley is filled with Italian influence, but if it wasn’t for the Coal War of 1873, this may never have been the case. Please plan to join the Hubbard Public Library on Tuesday, July 23, from 6-8 PM as we welcome Joe Tucciarone and Ben Lariccia, authors of Coal War in the Mahoning Valley: The Origin of Greater Youngstown’s Italians as they share what caused the Coal War to happen and how it led to permanent Italian settlements in the Mahoning Valley.

Registration is required for this event and can be completed by calling the library at 330-534-3512 ext. 2. Deadline for registration is Friday, July 19.
